Long wallet with hand-rubbed patina

About

A workshop of two, a knife, and hide that outlives us

We started with one belt for ourselves because nothing on the shelf was worth keeping. Ten years later we still cut every piece by hand, from full-grain vegetable-tanned hide, and stitch it with linen thread — the saddle stitch that does not unravel when one thread breaks.

Most of what we make is for one person: a wallet with a family crest, a belt sized to the last hole, a case for a tool that has no case. A handful of models we make again and again — those live in the collection and can still be changed in colour, thread and engraving.

Nothing leaves the bench with a machine seam or a painted edge. Edges are sanded, burnished and waxed; hardware is solid brass or stainless steel.
