Fern and bloom, in green

The brief was three words — fern, flower, green. We drew the frond so it crosses the flap diagonally and lets the bloom sit off-centre, which is what keeps a carved panel from looking like a stamp.

The background is matted with a pear shader and a fine background tool, so the raised leaves catch light while everything behind them goes quiet. Dye went on in four passes: a grass base, then bottle green pushed into the tooled lines with an airbrush, then two coats of resist and wax.

Inside it is a plain bifold — six card slots, natural-tan lining, cream linen thread. The snap tab was left undecorated on purpose; the flap already says everything.
